4x4 Adventure Excursions
The Overberg is one of the most scenic areas of the Western Cape, with a combination of mountains and ocean, nature reserves, conservancy areas, private game reserves and farmlands. Tri Active offers guided 4x4 adventure wine tours and excursions through this area.
The Hottentots Holland Mountains and Groenlandberg form the backdrop for these adventures. With altitudes ranging from 500m to 1590m, the terrain is rugged. Weather conditions in the mountains can be unpredictable. The reserve area has approximately 1300 species of mountain fynbos, including several rare and endemic plants. Birdlife is prolific with over 110 different species having been recorded including some magnificent species of raptors.
Guided Trails
Tri Active offers full and half day trails guided 4x4 trails and tours on the Green Mountain Eco Route. Self Drive Route
Close to the town of Grabouw, the route starts in the mountains. The route is graded as easy to moderate, 20km in distance, traversing Cape Nature Conservation areas and state forests. It is suggested that a minimum of two vehicles travel the route together. A permit can be obtained from the MTO Forestry office near the Grabouw/Elgin Country Club. Click to view details
